About the Foundation

Thomas C. Russell established the Tom Russell Charitable Foundation, Inc in 1960. Mr. Russell, a Chicago resident, was an entrepreneur, inventor, manufacturer and philanthropist. It was Mr. Russell's dream to share his wealth with those needing help in achieving their goals.

Mr. Russell died in 1972 and his wife, Florence (Dickie) Russell, managed the Foundation until her death in 1985. After Mrs. Russell's death, the Board of Directors assumed the management of the Foundation's activities.
